In 2009 Z Winter Guard merged back with Ability Winter Guard and used the Ability name.

In 2009, Ability performed in the Independent Regional A Class in the Mid East Performance

Association (MEPA). During the season, Ability took home four 1st Place trophies (Miamisburg, Central Crossing, Bellbrook, Juxtaposition). They were the Independent Regional A Champions and received the Gold Medal at the MEPA Championships.

 

Ability also performed in the Independent A Class in Winter Guard International (WGI). They placed 8th at the WGI Dayton Regional and 15th in Round 3 of the Preliminaries at the WGI World Championships.
